The Art of Reuse 2016

On May 18th, the PLAN team hosted an Artist Dumpster Dive on during college move-out week at UNH. Despite round-the-clock efforts of the UNH Trash 2 Treasure program to collect unwanted furniture and other goods during this hectic time, a good amount of this stuff still gets tossed on the curb or in the dumpster. Joined by a crew of local artists and reuse-enthusiasts, we hit up several dumpsters around campus to dig into the discards and extract whatever piqued our interest – be it a mirror, a canvas, broken shelving units, half-used art supplies, or a gumball machine. Artists were encouraged to hold on to materials they could use to create an art piece with, and we’ll see some of the finished products at the Art of Reuse.

Read this piece in The Sound written by our friend, Recover Girl (aka Jennifer Moore), on her experience on the Dive.
