Howdy! I’m Isabel (she/her), PLAN’s first-ever Director of Communications. I graduated from the University of Kentucky in May 2020 with a degree in Environmental Science focused on Communications and Urban & Community Forestry. I love combining my passions for design, media, and movement-building to creatively educate.

My role in PLAN is to shape and amplify the voice of the organization and all of our unique projects. Though my current focus is in communications, my previous work has centered around media production, environmental publications, urban forestry, and community food systems. I’d love to talk with you more about:

  • Creative media (video, photo, web, publications, graphic design)
  • Communication and outreach strategies
  • Preparing for leadership turnover and building consistency in an organization
  • Project management and systems creation
  • How urban forestry, community gardening, systemic racism, and the Zero Waste Movement are all connected
  • Multiracial identity
  • Your pets, favorite dishes to cook, garden, trees, cartoons, musical instruments…

When I’m not behind a computer or camera, you can find me attempting to replicate my nana’s Korean food, winging it in my garden, experimenting on various string instruments, analyzing media with my partner, pampering our pets (Pippin, a little black/white hound dog, and gray tabby brothers Badminton and Persimmon), and expanding my acorn collection! Thanks for reading, and hope to connect with you soon.
