2022 Program

The focus of the year’s conference is guided by our keynote from Lydia X. Z Brown: Local Actions, Massive Impact. Leading up to the conference weekend, we will share live, digital panels from students about their experiences building zero waste programs on campus. Hybrid digital and in-person workshops & field trips will focus on movement-building and leadership skills, featuring a mix of speakers both local to Philly and from other organizations in the movement. Finally, we’re emphasizing community-building through the return of PLAN’s “Unconference” — networking and discussion groups guided by student attendees. This year’s hybrid SZW has something for everyone, from trainings on designing campus reuse systems, coalition-building, and storytelling to a Zero Waste Fair with group art projects and drag bingo over brunch.
