Bon Appétit Management Company is an on-site restaurant company offering full food-service management to corporations, universities, museums, and other cultural institutions. Widely recognized as a pioneer in socially and environmentally responsible sourcing and waste reduction policies, we’ve been fighting waste since we opened our doors. Waste prevention is inherent in the way we cook and serve our food, preparing meals from scratch in small batches to order, using stem-to-root cooking techniques. We take a holistic approach, following the EPA’s Food Recovery Hierarchy, which focuses on preventing waste before it happens and keeping it out of landfills when it does. Some of our waste prevention initiatives include sourcing Imperfectly Delicious Produce, going trayless in our cafes, launching reusable to-go container programs, and tracking waste in our kitchens. Dr. Bronner’s was founded in 1948 by Emanuel Bronner, a third- generation master soapmaker from a German-Jewish soapmaking family. He used the labels on his superb ecologically gentle soaps to spread his message that we must realize our unity across religious & ethnic divides or perish: “We are All-One or None!” Still family-owned and run, now based in Vista, California, Dr. Bronner’s today is a registered California Benefit Corporation and Certified B Corp. Dr. Bronner’s honors its founder’s vision by continuing to make socially & environmentally responsible soap, food, and other personal care and cleaning products of the highest quality, and by dedicating our profits to help make a better world. We are proud to support PLAN’s 2019 Students for Zero Waste Conference. We are almost zero waste to landfill as a manufacturing operation, and honor our value to Treat the Earth Like Home in as many ways as possible, including through our regenerative organic agricultural supply chains, post-consumer recycled content packaging materials, 100% renewably powered factory, and more.
